University College Dublin
University College Dublin’s Irish Institute for Chinese Studies was officially launched in 2006. The Association for Chinese Studies in Ireland (ACSI) was founded the same year to encourage Chinese studies in Ireland, specifically by stimulating research and teaching.
The UCD Confucius Institute is a joint venture between the Office of Chinese Language Council International (Hanban), Renmin University of China and UCD. It was established in 2007 and officially opened by Mr. Zeng Peiyan, then Vice Premier of the People’s Republic of China.
In March 2010 over 60 students attended a Certificate Awarding Ceremony organised by the UCD Confucius Institute for Ireland attended by the First Secretary of Education Sector of Chinese Embassy in Ireland, Professor Dong Huiqing and deputy director of CII, Professor Zhang Weiguo. Since 2007, up to 450 students have benefited from the learning courses offered by the Institute.
Also in 2010 the first Confucius Classroom was launched by the Chinese Ambassador to Ireland, Mr. Liu Biwei in Loreto Secondary School (Bray). Also attending were President of UCD, Dr Hugh Brady and director of UCD Confucius Institute for Ireland, Dr Liming Wang.
UCD’s Spring Festival Gala of Ireland celebrating the Chinese New Year (Year of the Tiger, 2010) which took place at Dublin’s National Concert Hall featuring performances of Chinese martial arts, acrobatics, conjuring, music, dance, and folk songs by professional artists and students. The Anhui Provincial Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese Troupe made a special visit to Ireland for the Gala.

UCD孔子学院由国际汉语言研究协会办公室（Hanban），中国人民大 学和UCD于2007年联合创立。由中国人民大学副校长曾培炎先生正 式开放。
2010年3月，60多名学生参加了爱尔兰UCD孔子学院的证书颁发仪式， 中国驻爱尔兰大使馆教育司第一秘书董会庆教授和CII的副主任张卫 国教授出席了仪式。从2007年起，到目前为止，已经有450名学生受 益于学员提供的课程。
也是在2010年，第一批孔子教室由中国驻爱尔兰大使，刘碧伟在雷洛 托中学（布雷）正式启用。同时参加的还有UCD的校长，Hugh Brady博士和UCD孔子学院的主任—李明旺博士。
爱尔兰都柏林大学孔子学院在都柏林国家音乐厅举办了一场春节联 欢晚会，庆祝中国的新年（2010年虎年）。由专业艺术家和学生表演 了中国武术、杂技、魔术、音乐、舞蹈和民歌。孔子学院春节晚会特别 邀请了中国安徽省侨声艺术团赴爱尔兰演出。
