National University of Ireland (NUI) Maynooth
NUI Maynooth traces its roots to 1795 when St Patrick’s College was founded as a seminary in Maynooth. Today, the historic and beautiful campus is home to world-class academics who have established the University’s reputation for research and teaching excellence and currently has over 8,000 students drawn from more than 20 countries.
Over the years, NUI Maynooth has established strong links with China and today 25% of its international students come from China to study a variety of subjects including finance and economics, geography and software engineering.
The University has also established many important partnerships with Chinese Universities. In 2008 NUI Maynooth and Peking University jointly established the Sino-Irish Joint Research and Education Centre to encourage academic links between the two countries. At the nearby and equally renowned Beijing Foreign Studies University, NUI Maynooth was instrumental in establishing in 2007 the Irish Studies Centre in China. The first cohort of students graduated in April 2010 from the MA degree in Irish Studies.
Around the city of Shanghai, home of the World Expo, NUI Maynooth has five major university connections, with Shanghai University, East China Normal University, Suzhou University of Science and Technology, Zhejiang University and Changzhou University.

Trinity College, Dublin
Ireland’s oldest university, Trinity College, Dublin, also has an office in Shanghai, China. Trinity has a four hundred year old tradition of scholarship and is highly regarded internationally – particularly among the growing numbers of students from China. Steeped in history and academia, Trinity is also the home of the Book of Kells – a 9th-century gospel manuscript famous throughout the world. The Old Library where the Book of Kells Exhibition is displayed dates back to the 18th Century. Trinity College’s music library was presented with an Excellence Award by the International Association of Music Libraries in April 2010. Trinity College has strong links to China dating back to the formation of the Fuzhou Foreign Languages School by Trinity Missionaries more than 100 years ago.
The Trinity Chinese Alumni was launched in 2009 with the Chinese Ambassador to Ireland, His Excellency Mr. Liu Biwei, as guest of honour.
都柏林三一学院
都柏林三一学院是爱尔兰最古老的大学，在中国的上海已设立了办事处。 三一学院已有400年之久的学术研究传统，并得到国际社会的高度重视— 特别是来自中国的学生与日俱增。由于其悠久的历史和学术传统，三一学 院也是凯尔经的发源地—9世纪闻名于世界的福音手稿。在古老的图书馆， 这本凯尔经的展示可以追溯至18世纪。2010年4月三一学院的音乐图书馆 被提名，并被国际音乐图书馆协会授予优秀奖。三一学院和中国的紧密联 系可以追溯至100多年前三一传教士所创办的福州外国语学院。
2009年在中国驻爱尔兰大使刘碧伟阁下的支持下，成立了三一中国校友会， 而刘碧伟先生作为贵宾出席。
