While Ireland is famous the world over for its natural beauty it also has an impressive array of construction, engineering and architectural companies that have made a significant contribution to iconic structures in Ireland and throughout the world.

ublin’s skyline has been transformed in recent years with a new state of the art Convention Centre and the awe-inspiring Aviva Stadium. Contemporary design flatters the traditional Georgian


and Victorian urban landscape to create a city that embodies both the modern and the historical. Irish construction, engineering and architect companies have also being making their mark internationally. The PM Group’s growing portfolio of large-scale projects in Asia includes


one of the largest baby food nutritional plants in Shanghai for Wyeth (now Pfizer). Talented Irish architects Heneghan Peng are designing the Grand Egyptian Museum also known as the Giza Museum which will be built by 2013 at a cost of $US 550M. The distinctive ‘soap bubbles’ façade of the iconic Olympic swimming arena (Beijing National Aquatics Centre) – also known as the “Water Cube” – came from two professors from Dublin’s Trinity College. As evidence of the growing partnership between Ireland and China last


year Ireland’s largest international building materials group, CRH, acquired a 26% shareholding in the Jilin Yatai Group’s cement operations (Yatai Cement). CRH employs 80,000 people worldwide. From its origins in Ireland, the Treasury Holdings Group now operates


globally, across two continents and in seven countries. The Group continues to lead the way in identifying and capitalising on ever-changing global property trends. Treasury Holdings Group entered the China market in 2005 and is one of the most successful commercial real estate companies in China.
