Emails ‘Email’ is short for ‘electronic mail’. Email is used for sending messages instantly from one computer to another. Similar to letters, emails can also be personal or formal in language and tone.
The main differences between letters and emails are as follows.
Letters
To: the email address to which you are sending your email.
From: this will be automatically updated with the address of the email account from which you are sending your email.
Emails
The top of your email will include the following: To: From: Subject: a summary of what the email is about.
The top of your email may also include the following: Cc (carbon copy): the email addresses of any others who you want to see the email. These email addresses can be seen by the recipient.
Bcc (blind carbon copy): the email addresses of any others who you want to see the email. These email addresses will not be seen by the recipient.
