90 HAIR CARE

SHSP, a soap-based cleanser formulation was developed following the mass launches of facial/ neck cleanser in the Asia Pacific region.

Foaming performance in soap- based systems Consumers are asking for superior performance in rinse-off formulation systems. The addition of SHSP enhances the foaming characteristics of soap-based systems, enabling the development of high-performance formulations that meet consumer demand for cleaner beauty products. A study was conducted to measure foaming

performance by injecting a 5% solution of soap- based cleanser formulated with SHSP into a foam force comprehensive analyzer against a control (no polymer) system. See Table 3 for the Parameter names and definitions for test results. The results of soap-based facial cleanser w/

SHSP showcase superior foaming characteristics compared to the control sample showing generation of richer and more dense foam. Furthermore, the result demonstrates that soap-based facial cleanser w/ SHSP has stronger foam stability and longer half- life of the foam separation liquid, showing improved foam persistence and stability. Overall, soap-based facial cleanser w/ SHSP has a higher amount of bubbles per square millimetre, larger average bubble area, higher foam height, longer half-life (thicker liquid) and longer bubble stability compared to Soap-based Facial Cleanser w/o SHSP (Tables 4 and 5).8

Soap-Based Facial Cleanser w/SHSP Soap-Based Facial Cleanser w/o SHSP Halal,11 and ingredient that helps bridge the gap

between synthetic ingredients and “free-from” product claims. It supports the claim “ease of wet and dry combing” by reducing the combing force on washed hair tresses and dried hair tresses. It increases the tensile strength, or ability of a hair tress to withstand breaking with force of a comb along with a decrease in hair friction. Lastly, SHSP enhanced the glossy appearance

on hair tresses by 65% versus a sulfate-free basic shampoo control without polymer. In addition to mechanical testing for hair applications, SHSP demonstrates excellent foaming performance and creates a creamy, dense, stable foam that ensures a superior and luxurious cleansing experience.
