SENSITIVE SKIN 45 The Punica granatum extract is a natural
active ingredient obtained from the pericarp of immature pomegranates (Punica granatum). An in-house targeted study has shown that the immature pericarp of pomegranates contains a rich and complex mixture of polyphenols, which is particularly interesting for the optimal and transversal treatment of slight to moderate acne. The Punica granatum supply chain of
Silab Softcare aims to control and ensure the traceability of the raw material and to secure its supply. Work has been done in close cooperation with producers in order to precisely define the contract conditions of cultures and to guarantee standardization of the quality of the raw material. Available in preservative-free powder and free
of hazardous or potentially allergenic substances, this active ingredient is totally safe for adults with acneic skin. Combining rapidity of action and efficacy, the Punica granatum extract is an ideal solution for the daily care of slight to moderate acne in adults.
Wound healing Original in vitro in-house model to investigate wound healing The healing process of the skin depends on three phases: the inflammatory phase, the proliferation phase and the remodeling phase. Scientific progress in field of healing has shown the key role of the entities involved in the second phase, called the proliferation phase. Indeed, the rate and quality of healing depend on the effectiveness of the four biological events required in the proliferation phase, which are: the formation of the granulation tissue, the revascularization of the wound, the re- epithelialization and the reduction of inflammation. In order to study the dynamic of repairing
damaged skin, Silab Softcare developed a wounded, vascularized and immunocompetent in vitro model,7,8

Development of a care for wounded or damaged skin requiring repair
Based on this unique model, a purified natural active ingredient from Ceratonia siliqua was developed with the aim to accelerate and improve the efficacy of the healing process of the skin. This 3D model enabled the real-time
determination of the healing potential of the Ceratonia siliqua extract as well as its mechanism of action on the different biological events involved in the proliferation phase of the healing process. It has therefore been shown that with this
active ingredient, the formation of granulation tissue is supported, and the vascular network is improved. It also stimulates re-epithelialization of the wound and reduces inflammation. For the development of the Ceratonia siliqua
extract, a clinical study was also conducted on adult Caucasian volunteers with skin lesions resulting from mechanical aggression that stripped
