polished look. SHSP addresses this need by improving the natural shine of hair while achieving silicone free formulation. Hair glossiness was evaluated using the Skin-Glossymeter GL207


(T/CAFFCI 68-2023), a


recognized tool for precise gloss measurements. Hair strands washed with a sulfate-free, basic shampoo formulated with 5% SHSP and dried in a humidity chamber for 24 hours were assessed against untreated control. Results confirmed a significant increase in hair gloss, demonstrating the polymer’s ability to enhance shine and provide


visibly healthier, radiant hair. Treated hair tresses demonstrated superior


improvements in hair glossiness compared to the control group (sulfate-free shampoo without polymer). The control group achieved a 17.75% increase in hair glossiness from T0 to T1 versus the group inclusive of 5% SHSP which saw hair glossiness increase by 29.27%, representing a 65% enhancement in glossiness (Figure 5).

Procedure: 1. Heat Phase A and C to 70 - 80°C in separate beakers. 2. Premix Phase B and combine with Phase A while heating. 3. At 70 - 80°C, add Phase D into Phase A and allow to fully incorporate. Then add Phase C while mixing. Maintain temperature and continue mixing for 1 hour. 4. After 1 hour of mixing homogenize for 3 minutes then allow to cool to 45°C. 5. Add 45°C, add Phase E one by one, allowing for full hydration before adding next. Properties: Appearance: Off white paste. Odour: Mild peppermint scent. pH: 9.00 – 10.00.
