Welcome to the November edition of Personal Care Global magazine. The past three months have flashed by and I have just about got my feet under the table in time for the last edition of the calendar year.

The publishing industry is always looking ahead, though, and the editorial calendar and media pack for next year are now ready. In case you had not seen them yet, the main features we are covering in the first three issues of next year are as follows, with the deadlines for submitting feature articles in brackets at the end: ■ January 2022: Hair Care, the Skin Microbiome and Texture (19 November 2021) ■ February 2022: Preservatives, Male Grooming and Anti-Ageing (4 December 2021) ■ March 2022: Eye Area Care, Naturals and Hygiene (6 January 2022) You may have noticed that we have cut

down the number of scheduled features from four to three. This was done to maximise our flexibility and give us more scope for including interesting articles ad hoc. As ever, your ideas

are most welcome, particularly if you have not featured before or in a long time. The April 2022 edition will, of course, be the

main one for In-Cosmetics Global, which is always our biggest of the year in normal times. And it does sort of feel like normal times are returning little by little this quarter, with the resumption of industry events like Suppliers’ Day in New York shortly after this issue went to press. In this issue, we feature Testing, Hair Styling,

Anti-Pollution and Lifestyle Cosmetics as our main features, along with a host of others. I was particularly struck by a concept that crops up in two articles in Testing, by Melbec and MSL. Everyone knows of the vegan movement and the idea of vegan cosmetics is not too difficult for the layman to grasp, but vegan testing…? And yet when you think about it, this makes

perfect sense too. How can a product be truly vegan if it has been tested using animal-derived by-products? We shall certainly hear more from companies like these as they address the requirements of a movement that goes way beyond being just a trend or a niche in the market to being a wholly different way of living, essential to the future of the planet. Enjoy the read,
