Business manager appointed Colonial Chemical has


announced the promotion of Dennis Abbeduto as personal care business manager - surfactant and specialty chemical sales. Mr Abbeduto has served Colonial Chemical for over seven years, previously in the position of product applications manager. Prior to joining Colonial, Mr Abbeduto applied his expertise in successive roles within Alberto-Culver Company and the McIntyre Group. In total, Mr. Abbeduto brings over twenty years of experience in personal care and HI&I surfactant chemistry and applications. “We are very pleased that Dennis has accepted this new role in our company,” said David Anderson, Jr., vice president of sales and marketing for Colonial Chemical. “He is already a well-known advocate for our products in the industry. We’re confident that he will continue to be a key source of creative product direction and will provide essential leadership throughout our company in the development and promotion of Colonial’s personal care products.”


Range of new features at Making Cosmetics


The sixth edition of Making Cosmetics in Milano has grown by 30%. Visitors from across the supply chain are assured a high return of their invested time, with over 50 hours of scientific content delivered by authoritative associations including: the Italian Society of Cosmetic Chemists, the European Federation for Cosmetics Ingredients, the Italian Association of Chemical Trade and the Italian Institute of Packaging.


Most of the content is in Italian to assist the Italian formulators who do not travel to international fairs to gain knowledge of the latest ingredient formulations and brainstorm among some of the most creative minds in the industry. New features at Making Cosmetics include an authoritative Round Table (in Italian) titled: ‘Interaction of research: from cosmetics to well- being’ (organised by


Beautyonline); ‘Soapture’ (sponsored by Sapone di un tempo), where a sculptor will bring soap to life with the art of carving.


‘Emotional Making’ (English language), will consist of two meetings discussing fragrance, seen through the perfumer’s psycho-sensorial perspective. Fragrance in Mind will look at the main characteristics of a successful perfumer, while The Mind of the Fragrance will examine how the raw materials can be perceived by the perfumer as allies for the creation of a successful fragrance.
