PGTL
Cithrol PGTL is a non-ionic wa ter-in oil emulsifier tha t offers outstanding efficiency and versa
is 100% bio-base d and a g reat alternative to traditional PEG based systems.
Cithrol PGTL allows the formulator to unleash their crea tivity and create unexpected formulation sensories , whilst reducing environmental impact via formula ting cold proc ess.
A High-PerformanceWater-in-Oil Emulsifier It is very important that a water-in-oil emulsifier has broad
compatibility with a large variety of ingredients. This will ensure that robust, stable systems can be created, whilst also allowing for the creation of a multitude of formulation concepts. Cithrol PGTL satisfies this need by demonstrating excellent compatibility with a wide number of emollient oils and other typical cosmetic ingredients including electrolytes, urea, silicones and preservatives.
In fact, when the compatibility of Cithrol PGTL (1%) with selected emollients was investigated (please see Figure 1 below), it was found that the use of Cithrol PGTL created a stable W/O emulsion in every case. Benchmark W/O emulsifiers were also tested, however these were not able to produce stable emulsions with all of the selected oils. Stability was tested over a period of 12 weeks at a variety of temperaturres (4°C 40°C, 45°C, 50°C and -10/40°C).

Cithrol PGTL is non-ionic and its performance is independent of the polarity of the emollient, meaning that emulsification is effective with a wide variety of oil phase polarities.
