Online poker was launched in the state in 2013 and is available to non-restricted gaming licence holders. Ultimate Poker went online initially and became the first


regulated online poker site in the US. But the venture failed a year and half later and today although there are two


licensed operators – Real Gaming (South Point Poker LLC) and WSOP (World Series of Poker – Caesars). South


Point’s site has always been dormant meaning WSOP operates without competition.


ONLINE GAMING


Sports betting has been legal at casinos in Las Vegas since 1949 and as such Nevada was the only state with legal sports betting for decades. It became the first state to legalise online sports betting in 2010 eight years before the US Supreme Court made sports betting permissible in other states. As such Nevada is the longest-running market for legal sports wagering in the US. Tere are around 200 sportsbook locations in


Nevada and more than half are William Hill kiosks and there are a dozen sportsbook apps now operating in the state including: STN Sportsbook - this was the first sportsbook


to open in Nevada. Station Casinos is operated by Red Rock Resorts which has 18 casino and entertainment properties in the US. In Nevada (Las Vegas) there are sportsbooks at seven Station casinos and seven Wildfire taverns. Westgate Superbook –located at the Westgate


Las Vegas Resort and Casino opened in 1993 and was the largest sportsbook in the world occupying 30,000sq.ft and 350 seats, until Circa opened. Westgate Resorts was founded in 1982. Circa Sportsbook – this is one of the latest major sportsbooks to arrive in Nevada and opened

its flagship hotel in 2021 at the Circa Resort and Casino. Te sportsbook is more than 30,000 sq.ft over three stories with seating for 1,000. Tere are nine Circa locations in Nevada to register at. South Point Sportsbook – this is a locally


owned sportsbook and the home base for VSiN, a sports betting-focused radio station. It is located at South Point Hotel Casino and Spa in Las Vegas and features two wall-sized big screens, multiple plasma televisions and over 100 seats. Caesars Sportsbook – Caesars has been push-


ing its sportsbook facilities for the last few yeas and is located at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas with 17 sports betting kiosks in the state of Nevada. It’s of moderate size with 143’ display and 140 seats and 13 betting windows. William Hill Sportsbook – the company began


its retail and mobile operations in Nevada in 2012 and established William Hill US after acquiring three sportsbook companies to take over the sportsbook division.


It currently operates 108


sports betting kiosks in the state. Casino operators can apply for a sports pool licence which is given in addition to a non-restricted gaming licence. Wagering app accounts can be established re-
