Game Sequels HOT TRIPLE SEVENS
IVAN KRAVCHUK CEO Evoplay
Ivan Kravchuk establishes how top-performing original content is enriched with smoother animations, improved UX/UI, enhanced mechanics and storytelling elements that add extra value while preserving their core appeal.
Evoplay has several game series that have merited sequels including Penalty Shoot-out, Te Greatest Catch and Hot Triple Sevens. How does Evoplay decide a game merits a sequel?
We determine this based on analytics – how the game performs, how it appeals to players, and how interesting it is in different regions. Also, before choosing which game to make a sequel to, we look at the relevance of the game's theme and our ability to give players the so-called extra value. Looking at the games listed, in each Evoplay’s sequel, players find an enhanced design with smoother animations and improved UX/UI. In some there is the presence of storytelling that increases engagement, such as in the Penalty Shoot-out series, where players can enjoy a game of stadium or move to the busy streets of Brazil, and in the recently released Penalty Shoot-out: Super Cup, fight for the Champion’s Super Cup.
Te Greatest Catch slot, featuring the cartoon character Harry the Fisherman, is the perfect choice for adding Bonus Buy, as seen in the Mega Greatest Catch Bonus Buy slot, or for a new
themed adaptation like its sequel, Te Easter Catch, where Harry celebrates Easter by catching big fish. Hot Triple Sevens, a nostalgic delight, has been enriched with new mechanics and design. Its updated version, Hot Triple Sevens Hold & Win, is already breaking records in terms of business metrics and has become a global favourite among players. By refreshing favourite games with new looks, we strive to give players what they want – emotional enjoyment of the game.
What constitutes a noteworthy and befitting Evoplay game sequel?
Sometimes, continuing a story means expanding a game's universe rather than creating a direct sequel. For example, when creating a series of
games united by the racing story of the flagship game Adrenaline Rush, we aimed to provide
players with more variety, offering immersive mechanics, engaging storytelling, and, at the
same time, boosting the brand of both the game and the company.
Te answer lies in the reasons for continuing a story, which are unique in each case. Sometimes, continuing a story means expanding a game's universe rather than creating a direct sequel. For example, when creating a series of games united by the racing story of the flagship game Adrenaline Rush, we aimed to provide players with more variety, offering immersive mechanics, engaging storytelling, and, at the same time, boosting the brand of both the game and the company. In the case of Hot Triple Sevens, it’s a story of the game that has been popular for years. To keep the game appealing to players, we enhanced the sequel with the trendy, market-popular Hold & Win mechanics.
If the game is enjoyable, has its own unique charm, and players like it, then it’s worth updating and continuing. But it’s important to keep the right balance. It’s like with a good movie – while some sequels don’t resonate with audiences, others, if you maintain a balance and do not turn it upside down, cause delight.
How is the creative process for a sequel different from that of an original title? Are there different considerations concerning the use of game data, player feedback and market research?
