Both the original Rainbow Riches and Rainbow Riches Pick 'n' Mix, which were among the first games in the series. Tese games feature iconic bonus rounds, a distinctive look and feel, as well as memorable music and high-quality art or style. We have been really pleased with their longevity. When we release new content, we often see players trying out new games while also being reminded of the older ones they love. Tis encourages them to return to their favourite games. So, when we evaluate the performance of Rainbow Riches, we consider the entire game family and how players continue to enjoy it.
Rainbow Riches Power Pitch was introduced as a fresh take on the series in 2022. With numerous titles in the portfolio and a dedicated following, is it less of a gamble to change up the formula?
I do not think it is less of a gamble. I believe every game needs to be treated with respect and requires thoughtful consideration behind its development; otherwise, it will not succeed. Te last thing you want to do is release a game in a series that undermines the original by taking it in a completely different direction. Te most important thing when building these game families is to stay true to the essence of what Rainbow Riches represents. We recognise that there are thousands of players who love the original games, like Pots of Gold and Pick 'n' Mix.
Tat is the challenge we face: how to bring the leprechaun into 136
new environments or introduce new mechanics while maintaining fidelity to the original. Staying true to the original concept is one of the hardest things to achieve, and we see varying levels of success with that. A lot of it depends on how far we push the boundaries and how closely we adhere to the original style.
How is the Rainbow Riches series evolving with player preferences? What does Rainbow Riches' newest title, Dream Pots, bring to the series?
Dream Pots is an excellent example of our approach. When we designed Dream Pots, we focused on creating a jackpot suite tailored for the UK market, paying close attention to how jackpots have evolved over time. Jackpots have shifted away from the high seven-figure values that very few people ever win. Instead, we are now looking at jackpots that drop at £100, £200, or even £500. Tis change allows for a much better chance of winning, which is important to us as we aim to deliver winning experiences to as many players as possible.
In designing Dream Pots, we drew inspiration from older games. You will notice that Dream Pots is layered on top of original titles like Rainbow Riches, Rainbow Riches Pick 'n' Mix, and Rainbow Riches Race Day. Tis approach demonstrates how we can take a classic base game, make the necessary adjustments, and add elements that appeal to modern players who are eager to engage with these games.
