was also the need for more inputs; we have a CD player at the bar, the signal from the sound mixer for live performances, and a separate input with a multi-band compressor for DJs. For all of this we needed a bigger controller than the one included in the active Dynacord PSD subwoofers. A total of 12 amplifi er channels have been installed - three Dynacord DSA four-channel 8410’s, which have been stacked to reduce fan noise, save on space and cabling requirements. The club has a Dynacord P64 Digital Audio Matrix Manager featuring eight inputs and 16 outputs and the possibility to expand it through a digital input-chip, and then the sound mixer can be included digitally.” Milla features a classic club audio set up and there are three zones - the main system, the fi rst delay-line, and the second delay-line, in order to generate good speech intelligibility all the way across the room. The presets in the rear part of the room can be arranged dif- ferently and the sound of the CD player at the bar is distributed even- ly across the entire club. The delay lines have been set a bit louder and the main system has been set a little bit quieter to ensure even coverage throughout the space. The input from the mixing console is there for the main PA with a little back up for the delay line. “Due to the structural conditions such as the rising fl oor, we can achieve a lot with the main system,” noted Martin. The audio refi t did not however come without renovations to the existing structure.
