This year’s show also saw the debut of the Anaheim Convention Center’s outdoor venue – the Grand Plaza, featuring 100,000 sq ft of outdoor meeting and event space. NAMM visitors were treated to a series of live performances from the likes of Tower of Power, The Living Legends Jam and CTA with D.A.S Audio’s Convert 15A three-way system used for the performances. While there wasn’t an abundance of new product that mondo*dr hadn’t previously seen at exhibitions in 2012, there were a handful of US debuts on some of the stands. Roland’s M200i-EXP digital mixing console and V-40HD multi-format video switcher for example, made their fi rst proper outings at the show, ahead of new product previews at ISE in Amsterdam the following week; while Stanton and Cerwin Vega (part of the Gibson Pro Audio division) presented the DJC.4 Virtual DJ digital


workstation and the P-Series professional PA system. The Harman press conference took place in the morning of the fi rst day of the show, as it has done in years previous, and highlighted new product lines from AKG, Crown, JBL, Soundcraft and Studer; while Ampeg, Mackie and Loud demonstrated the benefi ts of its new product lines through a press conference also held in the morning of the fi rst day. DPA’s d:facto II vocal microphone made it’s US debut during the show; its features highlighted by performances throughout the four days from SHEL, a four sister group, who are all classically trained.


The Music Group had a large and impressive stand at NAMM, featuring products from all of its brands Bugera; Behringer, KlarkTeknik; Midas and Turbosound. While Behringer presented the X32 digital mixer, Turbosound launched its new Milan series of loudspeakers, which has been completely re-engineered to combine improved
