Travel wise the first two months of 2013 have been fairly quiet for me, just a couple of trips to Amsterdam. The first being to interview Marc Kocks, MD of TM Audio and LightCo in The Netherlands and Atlantic Audio in Germany, all of which are part of Ampco Flashlight Group. And the second time to attend ISE, a show that is definitely growing year on year. Some companies - particularly those of a visual nature - said ISE is now a more important show for them than Prolight+Sound (PL+S) in Frankfurt, however, for us as a publication the latter still remains top dog. It’s difficult to believe PL+S is just around the corner, the last year seems to have passed by so quickly. This year marks my fifth PL+S to date but it will be Helen’s first experience so for any of you who have not had the opportunity to meet Helen yet, I’m sure it will arise during the show. As always you’ll see the mondo*dr team rushing through the aisles from meeting to meeting but by 5pm you’ll most likely find us at the nearest press event that’s serving bubbly. On the one hand I do enjoy the slower travel schedule at this time of year, but at the same time, I get itchy feet when I haven’t been onboard a plane in a while. The summer months hold a jammed packed itinerary for just me alone with trips to Seoul, Prague, Mumbai, Beijing, Singapore and Sydney. If you have recently completed an installation project in one of these cities that might be suitable for a future issue of mondo*dr, please get in touch. Back to this issue and we have a varied line up of editorial for your perusal. The Report tackles a category that we only touch upon sporadically in mondo*dr, Stadia, but as you’ll see from the introduction by industry expert Roland Hemming and the case studies that follow, these installations require precision to be carried out successfully. We have two venue round-ups, one from the Middle East and one from the US, as well as a trio of theatre installations from The Americas region.
