MAJOR FACTORS OF TERRITORIAL MOBILITY OF THE POPULATION IN ROMANIA
The geographic analysis of the territorial mobility/movement of the
population focuses on migratory way/ path which involves a core area (initial area), stimulative factors, a flow of people and the target area (the recipient area)*. Consequently, the reluctance of the residence movements and the attractiveness of the residence settlement area determines the territorial mo- bility of the population, from a hostile environment to a high living standard. It is about the migratory movements which involve a permanent or lasting change of residence, of the type of activities, of the people’s lifestyles. On the other hand, within the analysis of the migratory phenomenon they take into account the factors which can determine the spatial mobility of the population and which refers to the undesired for the people from the leaving area, as well as, the factors of attractiveness from the residence settlement. The regional or district distinctions of the demographic attractiveness index are important and can be found in socio – economic consequences in different levels from one area to another. So, the territorial distribution of the values of demo- graphic attractivity index represents the mixed effect of the economic, social, political and natural factors. THE LEVEL OF SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT can be
identified through the varied degree of attractiveness which the areas with the industrial and viable services, such as jobs, residences, social and cultural facilities and an average lifestyle can offer. Thus, the wide areas with low de- velopment rural dwellings and an inferior degree of demographic attractive- ness can be found in Moldavia, Vrancea, the Danube delta, Oltenia, Dealurile Lipovei, The Field of Transilvania, The Apuseni Mountains, Salaj. Further- more, isolated and scarcely populated areas can be found in The Field of Baragan, on varied geographic spaces between the Valley of Olt and the Val- ley of Arges and in the south- west of Dobrogea. Being influenced by the low rates of growth, the severe poverty was in very high rates in Moldavia, espe- cially in Botosani, Iasi, Vaslui, Neamt, Bacau, Galati, Vrancea, as well as, in Salaj, Tulcea, Braila, Olt, Mehedinti, Gorj, Hunedoara, Alba and Valcea.
