which we recognise outstanding achievements across our divisions. We’ve also just held the graduation ceremony for our 2012 Apprentice Trainees, held on board the P&O Cruises ship Oriana. The event allows us to both recognise and reward the hard work and commitment that our trainees have given to their personal development, while also motivating and inspiring them towards the next step in their Hays career.
Apprentice to manager Natasha Heslop (pictured) is our Crook branch manager and started as an Apprentice Trainee in 2007. She recalls: “I started at Hays Travel as a 16-year-old apprentice trainee at our Newton Aycliffe branch. Since then I have completed an NVQ in Travel and Tourism, Customer Service, Team Leading and Management, and feel I have always had support from the company to progress. My studies
soon paid off when in 2010 I was promoted to assistant manager and then in 2012 I became branch manager at our Crook shop. The management training I have received has given me the confidence and capabilities to lead and motivate my team. The training department has always been supportive and inspirational. With so many diverse opportunities, I’m sure my future at Hays is going to be a very exciting one!”

My thrill at being accepted on to the programme is heightened by the inspiring and friendly ethos at Hays Travel. From the interview process through to my current first placement in our Training and HR department, everyone has been hugely welcoming and I was immediately made to feel like part of the Hays family.
