sam cassidy Mark Warner, tennis manager
A qualified Lawn Tennis Association coach, Sam has six years’ tennis coaching experience, and is also a football coach and referee. He has worked for Mark Warner for two years, firstly in Sardinia, then Rhodes – at the Levante Beach Resort – in summer 2014, and will be bar manager at Chalet Hotel Berangere, Les Deux Alpes, for winter.
" NAOMI JACKSON Explore, operations manager
Currently part of the operations team at the head office in Farnborough, Hampshire, Naomi will spend more time on the road as her role develops, training tour leaders across the world. She is responsible for the success of Explore’s adventure tours and spends her days (including evenings and weekends) dealing with issues from delayed flights and lost passports to more serious matters. She has A and AS levels in subjects such as leisure studies and travel and tourism, and at Explore has had first aid and critical incidents training.
"
I previously held jobs at Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, Shorex Travel and IT company Metafour, but a recruitment agent contacted me about an operations support role at Explore, which I got after two interviews.
I was promoted to operations manager for Europe after 10 months. I’ve been to Croatia and Iceland
to train my new tour leaders in preparation for the summer season – that’s the great benefit of the job. When you love to travel, having a job that takes you places is something to be very happy about. I’d like to be a product manager and create tours for our customers.”
I applied online then after an interview at head office, I had a test at London’s Queens Club. Working for Mark Warner is superb: it gives you the customer service and people skills you need for most jobs. I have created a tennis coaching programme for guests;
trained and motivated staff; delivered presentations and awards; hosted transfer coaches; and managed budgets. I like living away from home and working in beautiful places. I have a raw passion for coaching
tennis, and guidance from peers and managers has resulted in tremendous job satisfaction. I would like to become an area tennis manager or sports manager, which involves all the sports we offer. For winter seasons, my goal is to be a hotel manager.”
