I heard about Exeter College’s Flybe

Diploma

Chris Lewis, Exeter College aerospace training manager and Flybe partnership liaison manager, said: “The Flybe Diploma in Engineering programme is a pioneering partnership with Exeter College and has continued to flourish and mature since its launch in 2008. “The success of the students all finding full-time employment after completion of the course is testament to their

hard work, passion and commitment but also to the calibre of the training they have received through the partnership.” The course is very demanding, as students are in five days a week, 9am-5pm. The focus on hands-on experience training makes students more employable and sets them apart from their peers. Chris added: “This

innovative programme continues to attract

high-achieving, committed learners, and the reputation for the quality of students progressing into employment has sent ripples throughout the UK airline industry, with all students being successfully recruited.” Applicants must have at

least five GCSEs at grades A* to C, including English, maths and a science subject, although the college is not necessarily looking for those with the

highest marks.

in Engineering from my sister as I was looking for a practical engineering course. It was a great choice for me as there were so many options to take once you qualify. The qualifications I gained are recognised all over the world so there is potential to travel, which is something I have always wanted to do. The prospect of earning a competitive salary at the age of 21 also appealed. The modules studied on the course vary a great deal, but the best part of the course for me was definitely working with the other students. Everyone is in it together, helping each other out and bringing different experiences with them. I also liked the fact

that the course builds in a foundation degree as I always had aspirations of going to university.
