Veterans Matters By Colonel Vicki Whiting ADC This year the AGC Association has focussed on doing more for veterans of the AGC. T

he first thing we did was try to improve our paths of communication. Our website at https://www. agcassociation.co.uk has been updated. Here you can find contact details for our antecedent associations and details of events that veterans are encouraged to participate in such as dinner nights, Freedom Parades, Carol Services and our annual commemoration service at the National Memorial Arboretum. If you would prefer to be informed of events that are open to veterans by email then you can ask to be added to our distribution by emailing AGCRHQ-0GroupMailbox@ mod.gov.uk Those on the distribution will also receive a bi- annual newsletter by email.*

The Association has set up a network of Regional Branches with the aim of organising social events local to you. Fortunately, we have had willing volunteers from across the UK ready to give their time to organise such get togethers. It is still early days and several are just getting going. So far

we have North Yorkshire, Scotland, Hampshire, Dorset & Wiltshire, North Devon and South West England (including Plymouth), West Midlands and Wolverhampton, Oxfordshire, and finally, East Anglia. If you are interested in joining in then please contact Maj (Retd) Joe Bright MBE our National

Joe Bright MBE. Coffee Morning at Catterick.

Representative (formerly Assistant Corps Secretary and editor of the AGC Journal) at agcveterans@outlook.com who can point you in the direction of your local Branch. The RMP, RAPC, RAEC, WRAC and MPS Associations all have similar regional branches. In fact, they are very well established and have many more than us so there is a good chance there is one in your area. In the first instance, your Branch Secretary is the best port of call. You can find their details on the AGC website.

Over 300 of our veterans currently subscribe as veteran members of the Association and by so doing they receive a copy of the AGC Journal. The annual cost is £5 for those residing in the UK and £15 for overseas (to cover postage.)
