I had some successes and my opponent was on the back foot, against the ropes on several occasions. Post bout conversations confirmed this, and I was pleased I wasn’t out of my depth and certainly felt like I was in the fight. The outcome reminded me why I first started this journey; not to win from the outset, but to build the foundations and plant the flag for the future of boxing in the RMP.
At 174 Pro Coy 1 RMP, a boxing club is being setting up and this will be a great foundation to build on. The aim is to set the
conditions for success in the sport and develop key unit virtues that this sport brings out: courage, discipline, respect for others, selfless commitment, and mental and physical resilience.
Owen’s win.
This is just the start of what I hope will be a successful future for another Corps Sporting activity and I would encourage anyone interested in taking up boxing to contact with me.
