external coaches Mr Simon Arbuckle, WO2 Stephen Hughes (RAPTC) and Rfn Gary Young (RIFLES) who certainly put everyone through their paces. As a result of the hard work the team’s confidence and performance skyrocketed.
Army Champs and Team Selections The AGC were well represented at the 2022 Army Clay Shooting Championships with Maj Jason Wright (RMP) winning the AGC Cup and Cpl Eve Wild (MPGS) missing out on the lady’s trophy by only one point. Following talent ID events and assessments seven members of the Corps Team have been invited to the Army Team for the 2023 season, which puts the AGC in a firm place to challenge for the Army trophy in the coming year.
What’s next?
Although growth, training and development remain a focus into the coming season, the team will also be competing in the Army Target Shooting Club (Clay Target) League, as well as several Major civilian Championships across the UK. To introduce the sport to as many Corps personnel as possible, the coming year will see even more Novice events together with the first AGC Clay Target Championships. All members of the Corps are invited to compete.
