employment? We have drawn widely from the Branch’s collective experience in making the
best decisions that
we can, given the information we have at the moment. Our fantastic diversity and active engagement have ensured we have been able to face the challenge of PACR head on, seek new solutions to issues, and move our profession forward. This won’t however be the end state and ongoing evolution is inevitable. So, we need to continue to reinforce

In parallel, recognising the reason for our being is firmly rooted in our role as part of the deployed force.
Looking ahead
As I hand over to Brigadier Griffiths, I know that the Branch is in good hands. We have amazing talent within our ranks, both soldier and officer, and a vitality and enthusiasm that is evident whenever I meet you. You are the reason why being Head of Profession has been a calling and not a job, it has been a real privilege. You have all been there for each other, through good times and bad. Your teamwork, selfless commitment and pride in what we do, all shine through. I have been exceptionally well supported as Head of Profession; three Branch Sergeant Majors (Warrant Officers Class One Louise Thornton, Hazel Lowe and Louise Ashman), two Branch Colonels (the late Colonel Nicholas Carrell and Colonel Scott Vardy), and through Corps headquarters and by our Deputy Colonel Commandant, Commander Field Army. You, the SPS family, have been positive and professional despite the turbulence of the last 3 years. So, in closing, thank you for all that you do, your enthusiasm and service. Be proud of all that you achieve, strive to be the best that you can be, and look out for each other, the SPS Branch is one family.
