hair fibres and remove dust particles, such as Al+3 and Ca+2, thus resulting in less pollutant affinity. In addition, proline, glycine, and arginine amino acids are responsible for binding moisture inside the hair fibre for less brittle hair. Lastly, amino acids in the hydrolyzed protein active reduce reactive oxygen species caused by pollution or UV damage. Proline scavenges singlet oxygen to prevent oxidative damage, while tyrosine, lysine, and histidine contribute to the protection of hair fibres.3 The sourcing of raw materials,
manufacturing technologies, and supply chain methods allow for brands and consumers to be more sustainable, ethical, and environmentally conscious when creating superior haircare products using the hydrolyzed protein active. The environmentally friendly manufacturing process uses approximately 70% less energy and water compared to traditional methods. Moreover, each active present is naturally and sustainably sourced. Hydrolyzed rice proteins are upcycled from renewable and vegetal sources, Adansonia digitata seed extracts are upcycled from fruit that has naturally fallen from the African baobab trees to prevent human interference with the parent trees’ natural life cycles, and Amaranthus caudatus seed extracts are sustainably

such as calcium and aluminum ions, on hair fibres via Scanning Electron Microscopy with Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (SEM/ EDS) to assess the anti-pollution actions. These hydrolyzed proteins were used at 1% in shampoo in Indian and Chinese hair, compared to the initial untreated and placebo shampoo treated hair. After application of all treatments, the
