22 NYSCC SUPPLIERS’ DAY 2022
Tate & Lyle offshoot Primient made its debut at this year’s NYSCC Suppliers’ Day. Primient was established as the result of Tate & Lyle selling a controlling stake in its Primary Products business in North America and Latin America to KPS Capital Partners. The Primient portfolio includes a range of
personal care additive products designed to give formulators a variety of bio-based options. The portfolio covers hair care, skin care and sun care solutions that provide premium thickening, gelling, and emulsion functionality.
Italian outfit Rolemi HPC presented Ener-GY plus, its new cell energiser active ingredient for skin care, designed to optimize mitochondrial activation and is developed by enzymatic biotechnology. In addition, upcycled biologically active
solvents rich in fruit oligo-elements are involved “to respect planet resources”. Roelmi says clinical studies show that Ener-GY plus prevents the signs of skin fatigue thanks to a promotion of a youthful complexion by improving skin elasticity, firmness and radiance. Further evaluations confirmed that Ener-GY plus helps in maintaining the physiological balance in skin microbiota composition.
Sabinsa, which primarily focuses on innovative ingredients and cosmetic formulations, showcased Proscalpin, a patented, clinically studied blend for healthy haircare, and LactoSporin, a postbiotic preparation for healthy skin microbiome. The company also highlighted trending
natural skin care actives for UV protection and melanogenesis inhibition including PTeroWhite, Sabiwhite, Oxyresveratrol, and a range of other topical actives.
Sasol showcased its low-dioxane MARLINAT grades of 1:1 drop-in replacement products that mitigate risks for global producers facing national and international regulations. The new Sodium Laureth Sulphate and MIPA Laureth Sulphate do not compromise neither on quality nor performance, it says. Also on display were PARAFOLs - sustainable
alternatives to silicones in personal care applications based on responsibly sourced natural oils, COSMACOL - a toolbox of esters and ISOFOL emollients.
Sharon Laboratories was on hand to show NYSCC Suppliers’ Day visitors the benefits of the company’s acquisitions of Res Pharma and Cosmetic Division BC. On show was COSMOS-approved
SharoSense Plus 785 and clean INCI Sharomix 699 as eco- and microbiome-friendly preservation alternatives. They have the synergistic effect of natural plant-derived Maltol, organic acids and food-to-cosmetic combinations, to deliver broad spectrum protection at low usage levels. Pantrofina Perfection meanwhile is a
complex of essential micro-nutrients (vitamin E, D and A). It increases skin elasticity by a bio-modulating effect that stimulates cellular

metabolic activity of fibroblasts. Adimin RG is an ‘inner skin activator complex’ derived of polyphenolic rich, rheum palmatum root extract and hydrolysed glycosaminoglycans targeting fatty skin in stubborn body areas.
Siltech was on hand to show its new Silsurf Sustain Di-1010 polyether silicone copolymer. Said to offer premium sensorial attributes with the added benefit of improved sustainability, Silsurf Sustain Di-1010 differs from traditional offerings as the polyether component is derived from biobased plant sources rather than petroleum feedstocks. Siltech says the resulting product performs
similarly in applications and contains >66% biobased carbon content.
Southern Chemical & Textiles launched Dexterra Cleanse, a versatile surfactant concentrate featuring maltodextrin laurate, a novel 100% biobased/100% RCI polymeric surfactant, and natural derived non-ionics and amphoterics. This maltodextrin laurate is produced via
a patented low energy process that is a highly scalable alternative to expensive, high energy consumption fermented products and primarily uses feedstocks produced in North America to avoid the pains of long supply chains and shortages.
Meanwhile, NYC-based data analyst outfit Spate was on hand to dish out pearlescent face art stickers – very on trend with Gen Z, as well as ageing personal care magazine editors trying to cling on to their youth.
Sytheon introduced Asyntra D-Stress, which acts synergistically with CBD/hemp oil, amplifying its most positive attributes. The product can also be used alone. The company says it significantly reduces
the loss of anandamide, the ‘bliss molecule’ by targeting endocannabinoid system regulators such as fatty acid amide hydrolases and fatty acid binding proteins through CB1- and CB2- independent mechanisms which relieves stress and revitalizes skin for a relaxed appearance and radiant glow.
Tri-K Industries introduced NaturePep Ganoderma, a first-of-its-kind Ganoderma/Reishi mushroom peptide that reduces crow’s feet wrinkles and roughness, addressing the periorbital area of the face where the first signs of aging can appear. The company also showcased Galguard Tetra,
a safer preservative for people and the planet. A broad-spectrum preservation system for leave-on and rinse-off formulations, Galguard Tetra is eco- efficient and paraben-formaldehyde free. In addition, Tri-K highlighted Fision GlowPlex,
the company’s niacinamide-powered peptide for enhanced skin glow and radiance. With Pisum sativum (pea) extract and chenopodium quinoa seed extract, it increases skin glow in just seven days, it says.
Ultra Chemical highlighted newin vivo data around natural prebiotics and the impact they have on the microbiota of acne prone skin and the microbiota of skin exposed to UV. Ultra’s supplier, Gobiotics, performed clinical
studies which demonstrate how prebiotics preBiulin AGA and preBiulin FOS help restore the skin micro biota after disruption from a harsh facial wash and serve as a protectant against problematic microorganisms associated with acne. Gibiotics also showed how preBiulin AGA helps
restore the skin microbiota back to its original state after disruption from UV exposure. Ultra Chemical also showcased new formulations, including EverCare: Mineral SPF 50 spray, an easy-to-use ZnO only SPF 50 spray; EverCare: Mineral SPF gel cream; and Soft Focus SPF 30 Liquid Foundation, a zinc oxide-based foundation that provides coverage desired of a foundation coupled with protection of a UV filter.
