Novomatic World Gaming Week 2026

Novomatic used its ICE Barcelona 2026 press conference to do two things at once: take stock of a year shaped by regulatory change and macroeconomic uncertainty, and set out a clear, product-led roadmap for 2026 built around scale, R&D investment and a ‘360-degree’ approach spanning land-based, online and venue operations.

World and the 360o growth story

Xtension At ICE Barcelona 2026, Novomatic used its

4,500sq.m showcase to set out a connected, investment-led strategy for the year ahead,

combining cabinet innovation, flagship Xtension Link expansion and Greentube’s digital scale into a 360-degree portfolio spanning land-based, online and venue operations in regulated markets worldwide.

With four speakers presenting in sequence, Stefan Krenn (Executive Board Member, NOVOMATIC AG), Tomas Graf (CEO, Greentube GmbH), Bernhard Teuchmann (Managing Director, Product & Technology Division, NOVOMATIC Gaming Spain S.A.) and Tomas Schmalzer (VP Global Sales & Product Management, NOVOMATIC AG), the group positioned Barcelona as the right stage for a global showcase, and Spain as a strategically important market in its own right.

Across the presentation, several themes landed consistently: adaptability in a fast-moving regulatory environment, continued international expansion, deep investment in product development, and a unified portfolio strategy that connects cabinets, content, systems, ETGs, AWP/VLT segments and digital distribution.

REGULATION, RESILIENCE AND INVESTMENT-LED MOMENTUM

Opening the conference, Stefan Krenn, Executive Board Member of NOVOMATIC AG, framed the past year as one of “massive and rapid changes” across regulation, taxation and market conditions, dynamics that are now “more important than ever” for the industry to communicate objectively.

Stefan Krenn emphasised that Novomatic’s competitive advantage is its ability to adapt quickly and responsibly, positioning this as “key to success” in 2026 and beyond. He also used the platform to restate Novomatic’s scale and operating footprint, describing the group as “one of the largest integrated gaming technology groups in the world,” with more than 26,000 employees, around 300 companies and activities across 130 countries, paired with an operational presence of more than 2,000 gaming venues, exclusively in regulated markets.

At the heart of that resilience, he pointed to Novomatic’s two-pillar business model: developing and supplying gaming equipment, systems, hardware, software and content, while also operating gaming venues, an ‘integrated approach’ that supports synergies and cushions against market shocks.
