Konami Sharpens Omni-Channel Strategy

New hardware, iGaming identity and SYNKROS tools debut at ICE Barcelona 2026

At ICE Barcelona 2026, Konami Gaming used its expanded presence to underline a clear strategic message: the future of the business rests on tightly aligned land-based hardware, a mature iGaming pipeline and a deeply embedded casino management ecosystem. Speaking to G3 during the show, Senior Director, Marketing & Communications, Tashina Lazcano outlined how Konami’s latest cabinet launch, content roadmap and newly branded online division are designed to work in parallel, rather than as

separate verticals, while SYNKROS continues to evolve as a floor-wide operating platform rather than a back-office system.

Te centrepiece of Konami’s land-based launch at ICE was Solstice 49C, the company’s newest video slot cabinet aimed squarely at the high-volume for-sale category. Featuring a 49ins. curved 4K UHD display stretching from topper to below the button deck, Solstice 49C introduces interactive acrylic lighting elements that respond dynamically to gameplay events in real time.

Under the hood, an upgraded chipset and GPU deliver four times the computing power of the prior platform, enabling more fluid animation, faster responsiveness and greater flexibility for feature-rich titles. Enhanced spatial audio and bass-reflex technology further position Solstice 49C as a premium visual and sensory experience without sacrificing operational efficiency.

For Konami, the cabinet is less about spectacle and more about futureproofing. Te additional computing headroom allows new game mechanics, richer bonus features and licensed IP to be deployed without compromise, which is critical as development cycles tighten and player expectations continue to rise.

BOMBERMAN ARRIVES AS KONAMI’S FLAGSHIP LICENSE

Among the most talked-about launches on Solstice 49C were BOMBERMAN BLAST and BOMBERMAN BOOM, marking the first

casino adaptations of Konami Digital Entertainment’s iconic video- game franchise. Te titles translate BOMBERMAN’s single-screen gameplay logic into a hold-and-spin mechanic built around expanding reel positions and bomb-driven prize interactions. Bomb symbols can multiply values, unlock new reel spaces and even merge coin prizes into a single symbol, freeing space for further awards. Any three Bomber Game symbols trigger the feature, with random entry also possible.

Lazcano noted that early installations have been encouraging, reflecting the strength of a globally recognisable IP with decades of cultural reach. Te simplicity of the core BOMBERMAN concept, easy to understand, difficult to master, has proven well suited to slot adaptation, particularly compared with more complex action or first- person franchises. Crucially, BOMBERMAN is positioned as a true omni-channel title. Land-based and online versions are scheduled to deploy in close alignment, reinforcing Konami’s strategy of maintaining game integrity and brand consistency across channels rather than treating digital as a secondary port.

ORIGINAL IP ROUNDS OUT THE SOLSTICE CONTENT LINEUP

Alongside licensed content, Konami showcased a broad slate of original titles designed to leverage Solstice 49C’s technical capabilities:
