Page 35 Transition Automation Launches Tabletop Printer

Tyngsborough, MA — Transition Automation has launched its PrinTEK PRO™ MP-1818-V, a high- precision, configurable, controllable, tabletop printer designed specifically for SMT printing pro- fessionals. The new system is basic, open-format and prints a large area. Its high repeatability, configurability and

precision come from features that make it easy to set up and use, while delivering high performance. Too often, print quality is compromised during set up. This printer offers high quality and high-value production at a fraction of the cost of automated equipment. The printer has a board loading surface of 18

x 18 in. (45.7 x 45.7 cm) and accepts industry-stan- dard 20-20 stencils. The printer can fit easily on a standard workbench with a 48 x 36 in. (122 x 91 cm) surface. The optional hydraulic lift

bench available with the PrinTEK PRO system offers the same surface dimensions and is also adjustable in the z axis. This makes it especially suitable for movement between lines and rearranging conditions, which are common in fast-growth and R&D environments. The table has a support capacity

of 1,100 lb (499 kg) and includes a chrome-plated handle for moving, along with lockable casters.

The printer has a special wedge-type, R-theta tool- ing with an infinite range of tool positions afforded by the coordinate style move and lock system. It also has a solid and accurate magnetic locking x- adjustment where the ball bearing-actuated linear table shuttles and locks (couples) to a precision, x- adjustment knob system. The system is also equipped with an en-

hanced, high-zoom, low-profile vision system that doubles as a quality inspection system with a lin- ear slide that extends over to the output side of the printer.
