Haverhill, MA — Seica is showcasing the power and performance of its new VIVA Next hardware and software platform in a virtual factory at IPC APEX 2019. Visitors can explore the company’s three new systems: the Pilot V8 flying probe tester, the fully automated, compact SL Next for in-circuit and func- tional test, and the Firefly Next, Sieca’s cutting- edge, laser-based selective soldering system. In addition, several Seica Mini line test and

programming stations will be on display, where visitors can see the power of the 64-bit VIVA Next software. The company is also showcasing two new products, including the Compact SLIM, which is an ICT and functional test system suited for small boards and low-cost applications. The SLIM is excellent for integration along with cobots. Seica’s desktop AOI system will also be on

display, which provides both conformal coat thick- ness inspection and through-hole component inspection in a compact platform. The VIVA NEXT

ANA Trading Offers Almit Solder Wire

Torrance, CA — ANA Trading has introduced a lead-free, cored solder wire manufactured by Nihon Almit that can reportedly triple the lifetime of soldering iron tips. The new solder wire is designed to save replacement costs and reduce downtime, raising productivity over standard lead-free alloys.

Combined with high soldering

temperatures, the high tin content of ordinary lead-free solders accelerates iron leaching from hand soldering or robotic soldering tips. Trials have shown that replacement rates can be 300 percent higher when compared with market-standard, lead-free sol- der alloys.

most familiar or preferred, including VIVA VL, VIVA Quicktest, VIVA Flylab, TestStand, LabVIEW, Excel, Python, and VBScript, while pro- viding a complete set of utilities and tools specifi- cally designed to easily manage all aspects of test. The test studio controls overall test flow, such

as test program settings, barcodes, board status, pass/fail information, report generation, and vari- ant management. The VIVA MyView environment makes it easy to customize the graphical interface for the operator, using the Seica graphic editor. Since MyView can also interact seamlessly with third party applications, it can provide one single operator interface (HMI) to manage all the steps of

the test sequences. Contact: Seica, Inc., 110 Avco Road,

LFM-48M anti-tip-erosion,

lead-free solder wire from Almit. To overcome this challenge,

ANA is offering Almit’s anti-tip-ero- sion cored solder wire, LFM-48M. This new alloy contains additional trace elements that offset tin activity and inhibit oxidation, reducing iron leach- ing to maintain tip condition. This not only reduces the rate of replacement for each soldering tip on the produc- tion line, but also allows consistent soldering accuracy for greater end-of- line yield and reduced rework. Testing through more than

20,000 robotic-soldering cycles has shown that the tip-replacement rate can be approximately halved, simply by replacing standard lead-free sol- der wire with Almit LFM48M anti- tip-erosion solder. The LFM-48M cored solder wire

is available with standard Almit SR- LA or SR-37 flux. It exhibits compa- rable solderability to ordinary lead- free solders, ensuring equivalent joint strength and reliability proven by heat-shock tests and high-temper-

ature and high-humidity shelf tests. Contact: ANA Trading Corp.,
