What career opportunities are available? Students on this course come from various backgrounds and aspire to a variety of careers. While the MA offers no formal professional recognition, the MA could act as a component of a career in social research, or in clinical practice. Students may plan to do further training in psychotherapy, or go on to pursue further psychosocial or social research projects; or they may be established practitioners in the helping professions, or sociologists, wishing to deepen their assimilation of psychodynamic theory.


If you are looking towards an academic career, you will find this MA relevant to several fields, including sociology, psychoanalytic studies, cultural studies, philosophy and history.
