Joint Seminar in Psychoanalysis and Management Dissertation
How will I be assessed?
Assessment takes the form of essays, exams and a dissertation.
What will I learn? This course offers a deep analysis of how organisations function, the nature of leadership, and the way organisational structure and dynamics contribute to the functioning of the system. This is achieved through a grounding in the contribution of system psychodynamics to the study of organisations, and a critical examination of management theory. Experiential learning also occurs through structured observation of organisations, and through a group relations conference.
How is the course structured? Teaching for the part-time version of this MA takes place on Wednesday during term time in the first year and Tuesday in the second year. Full-time students attend for both days for one academic year. In addition, time must be set aside in order to attend our residential Group Relations Conference and to conduct the Organisational Observation, which will be separate from the regular teaching arrangements.
