Research Degrees Entry requirements
Access to these programmes is supported by the NHS East of England; consequently the programmes are only available to applicants who: possess an Honours degree in psychology, giving graduate basis for registration in the BPS;
have previous experience of working as an assistant or research psychologist, or within a mental health-related setting;
are classified as ‘home’ or ‘EU’ students. In order to be classified as a home or EU student you must be: a) ‘settled’ in the UK as a UK or EU citizen, or have ‘indefinite leave to remain’ granted by the Home Office. ‘Settled’ means being both ordinarily resident in the UK and without any immigration restriction on the length of your stay in the UK; and
b) ‘ordinarily resident’ in the UK and Islands for the full three-year period before the first day of the first academic year of the programme;

We provide supervision for Postgraduate Research at doctoral and masters level. We offer research degrees (PhD, MPhil, and Masters by Dissertation) in the following areas: Clinical psychology Health studies Nursing studies Occupational therapy Physiotherapy Public health Social policy Speech and language therapy*

Supervisory arrangements For PhDs
Supervisory arrangements for PhDs typically involve dual supervision: you will have a principal supervisor with whom you will have frequent contact, plus a secondary supervisor. We draw upon supervisory expertise in clinical areas, research methodologies, social sciences and management systems.
For MPhil The MPhil may be studied two years full-time or four years part-time in the areas above. The same supervisory and other arrangements as described for PhD students (above) apply.
