Oral Health Sciences S
e-learning attendance is monitored with student progress being tracked and discussed at tutorials.
This full-time programme can be completed in two years and takes place at our Southend Campus.
FdSc Oral Health Sciences This Foundation degree has been developed jointly by staff of the University of Essex and Barts and London School of Medicine and Dentistry, Queen Mary, University of London. It prepares you for a career as a dental hygienist; successful completion of the programme leads to the award of a Foundation degree in oral health sciences, and enables registration with the General Dental Council as a dental hygienist.
This programme consists of 90 weeks of learning, spread over two years. The learning continues throughout the summer and does not conform to normal term times.
How is the programme structured? This programme has a modular structure; each module is integrated, with a theoretical and practice assessment. You will be required to spend two days per week studying in the University classroom and skills labs. Additional learning material is provided via the internet, and
