Occupational Therapy
We provide two programmes for studying occupational therapy: our four-year BSc Occupational Therapy (part-time) and our two-year MSc Occupational Therapy (full-time). Both programmes are taught at our Colchester Campus.
Our occupational therapy programmes help you to develop the knowledge, skills and attributes to enable you to work with clients of all ages who have physical or mental health problems or learning difficulties. These programmes combine a number of learning styles, such as lectures, seminars and workshops. Teaching and learning is undertaken both in the University and at work placements.
Successful completion of this programme leads to the eligibility to apply for registration as an occupational therapist with the Health Professions Council (HPC) and membership of the College of Occupational Therapists, as well as a BSc or MSc degree as appropriate. HPC registration is required to work as an occupational therapist in the UK, and once you have registered you will be able to practise in the community and hospital settings.
