To pass this module you must be able to:  discuss the elements that make up comprehensive Phase III and/or Phase IV cardiac rehabilitation programmes;


 evaluate a programme in terms of national guidelines for cardiac rehabilitation;


 show an understanding of the history, aims, structure, staffing, finance, recruitment and day-to-day running of Phase III and/or Phase IV cardiac rehabilitation;


 communicate scientific ideas related to cardiac rehabilitation and prevention effectively to a lay audience;


 monitor a typical cardiac rehabilitation patient during all or part of their rehabilitation programme and reflect on the role of cardiac rehabilitation in wider health care provision; and


 write a reflective document and build a work-based learning portfolio.


How is the module structured?  Three, three-hour lecture tutorials  40 hours in the workplace  80 hours student-managed learning on the work-based learning portfolio and reflective statement


 20 hours student-managed learning to prepare and deliver the presentation


How will I be assessed? This module is assessed by means of coursework only, in the form of a presentation to clients and a reflective portfolio.
