 Two A-levels: CC (or equivalent);  AVCE: CC or above;  BTEC National Diploma: MPP;  Access to HE Diploma with 45 credits at Level 3 at pass or above; or

 satisfactory occupational health and enhanced Criminal Records Bureau checks; and


 IELTS 7.0, with a minimum of 6.5 in each component (for non-native English speakers).

Access to these programmes is supported by the NHS East of England; consequently places on the funded programmes are only available to applicants who:  are classified as ‘home’ or ‘EU’ students. In order to be classified as a home or EU student you must be: a) ‘settled’ in the UK as a UK or EU citizen, or have ‘indefinite leave to remain’ granted by the Home Office. ‘Settled’ means being both ordinarily resident in the UK and without any immigration restriction on the length of your stay in the UK; and


b) ‘ordinarily resident’ in the UK and Islands for the full three-year period before the first day of the first academic year of the programme;


 have satisfactory Criminal Record Bureau enhanced checks; and


 can complete a satisfactory occupational health check (organised by our University).

As well as your academic studies, you will undertake a significant part of your programme in placement areas (at least 1,000 hours). These placements are primarily based in NHS (hospital or community based), social care, and private or third sector settings throughout Essex, but you may also be placed in Suffolk, Cambridgeshire or Hertfordshire.


You will be placed in a variety of multidisciplinary health and social care settings, and experience will be gained by working with people who have physical and mental health care needs. You may also have the opportunity to experience a placement within a role-emerging or non-traditional setting where there may not be a resident occupational therapist. This type of
