Fuji Intros NXT III Mounting Platform
Vernon Hills, IL — Fuji Machine Mfg. Co., Ltd. is introducing the newly de- veloped NXT III mounting platform. The latest addition to the NXT series offers improved performance in all areas and continues the evolution of a machine which has now sold more than 44,000 modules all over the world, covering every imaginable production type and volume. Top of the list of improve-
ments with the NXT III is: bet- ter productivity for all part sizes and types thanks to a faster XY robot; faster tape feeders; and a newly developed “flying vision” parts camera. In addition, the new H24 head — capable of 35,000 cph (chips per hour) per module —means a 35 percent increase in speed compared to the NXT II. The NXT III also offers
exceptional quality. By improving the machine’s rigidity and further re- fining its independent servo control and vision recognition technology, Fuji has achieved a placing accuracy for small chip parts of ±25µm (3sigma, Cpk 1.00). What this level of precision means is that the NXT III is well equipped to handle future manufacturing challenges. As well as supporting the smallest parts cur- rently being used in mass production (0402), the NXT III can handle the next generation of components head- ing for the market — 03015 parts. Usability is another area which

has been improved with the NXT III. The GUI of the original NXT was widely praised for making use of in- tuitive and easy-to-understand pic-
tograms instead of relying on lan- guage-based instructions. This inter- face is now combined with a touch- screen panel to make operation even easier. This improves usability, in- creases operation speed and boosts

productivity. Current users will be glad to hear that the new machine has high compatibility with the NXT II. Many of the main units from the NXT II such as placing heads, nozzle stations, feeders, tray units, and feeder pallet exchange units can be used on the NXT III without any
modifications. Contact: Fuji Machine Mfg., Co. Ltd., 19 Chausuyama, Yamamachi

Greeley, CO — FCT Assembly has in- troduced its NanoSlic Gold stencil, calling it the world’s most advanced stencil technology for solder paste printing. The new product is the next gen-
eration of stencil technology, and has been developed to address the increas- ing demands confronting the electronic assembly industry. The NanoSlic Gold coating is based on a proprietary appli- cation process that coats both the underside of the stencil and aperture walls. This ro- bust coating is both highly hydrophobic and oleophobic, which repels solder paste. NanoSlic Gold is ther-
mally cured and is a perma- nent coating. The NanoSlic technology significantly im- proves solder paste transfer efficiencies for small aper- tures resulting in higher yields and less rework. In ad- dition, NanoSlic minimizes bridging and reduces underside cleaning. This technology can be easily evaluated and is compatible with current as- sembly equipment and processes. Also on display, FCT Assembly’s
