Page 109 New DIN Terminal Blocks from ASI

Mechanicsburg, PA — Automation Systems Interconnect Inc. (ASI) has introduced DIN rail-mounted terminal blocks that use an extrusion technique to remove insulation on wires before connecting them to a control panel or manufacturing equipment. This is an excellent solution for a quick and safe connection of conductors having a small cross-section. Connection time is reduced by 70 percent compared to many other connection systems because there is no need to prepare the conductor or tighten any screws. No extra tools are needed to con-

nect wires to blocks and it only takes a screwdriver to remove the wire from the block. These terminal blocks have a UL rating of 600V, 15amps and

Replacement pH and ORP Probes

Garden Grove, CA — The S465 series probes from Sensorex offer an alter- native to Acu-Trol® pH and ORP probes used in swimming pool con- trol, industrial, municipal and potable water applications. The S465 has been designed expressly as a direct-fit replacement for existing Acu-Trol pH and ORP probes. Constructed of durable PPS, the

probes offer improved chemical resistance. In addition, the company

accept wires from 20 AWG to 16 AWG. Most importantly, wires are not dam- aged by insertion or removal. The metallic part of the block, which is made from a special copper

alloy, functions as the conducting body as well as the wire terminator. It has the elasticity to withstand up to 50 wire re-terminations. The 6.2mm foot- print is another solution for those pan-

els when space is an issue. The termi- nal block is available in two versions. The NCS type provides insulation dis- placement on both sides of the block. The NCV type provides insulation dis- placement on one side and a screw clamp on the other which is especially convenient for field terminations. Due to the shape and angle of the contact, it is difficult for the conductor to acci- dentally slip out of place. Removal of the conductor from the terminal block is as simple as lifting the actuator with the use of a screwdriver. Accessories such as jumpers and markers are also available for use with these cost- and time-saving ter-

minal blocks. Contact: Automaiton Systems Interconnect P.O. Box 1340,

Where Brilliant Ideas and People Intersect

Mfg4 brings together three manufacturing industries; aerospace, defense (including arms) and medical, and one strategic technology; micromanufacturing under one roof.

uses a higher volume of its propri- etary polymer sensor reference gel for longer service life. This advanced sen- sor technology delivers accurate measurement over a range of 0-14 pH or –1000 to +1000mV for ORP. The probes are suited to a variety of appli- cations with a temperature range of 0 to +80°C and a pressure maximum of 100psig (standard de-rating applies). The threaded 1/2-in. NPT connection enables easy in-line installation or use with existing Acu-Trol flow cells without modification. Advanced sig- nal shielding re duces noise for more accurate communication with process control systems. Both the pH and ORP probes are available with a BNR connector for quick integration into

existing systems. Contact: Sensorex, 11751
