Page 47 Gen3 Systems: Newest Solderability Tester
Farnborough, UK — Gen3 Systems Limited, a spe- cialist British manufacturer and distributor, is ex- hibiting alongside its American Distributor, As- centech LLC. On display will be Gen3 Systems’ MUST System 3, Gensonic Stencil Cleaning Sys- tem and Solder-Saver. The MUST System 3 is the latest technological evolution of the original Multi- core Universal Solderability Tester (MUST II) that grandfathered all of today’s solderability test standards. It remains the industry benchmark for solderability testing. Capable of measuring down to 0.001mN, the MUST3 is reportedly the most ac- curate and comprehensively equipped test system of its type in the world. The Gensonic Stencil Cleaning System, awarded the European Product of the Year at Productronica 2013, is a manually operated ultrasonic transducer unit for cleaning stencil apertures. The Gensonic can be used either
in conjunction with Stencil Cleaning Centres, or it is portable enough to be taken directly to the printer, thereby greatly reducing production down-

Oirschot, The Netherlands — Mek (Marantz Electronics Ltd) is showing the new FDAz platform which has re- ceived positive, industry-wide adop- tion. The FDAz inspection head en- ables 9 Camera AOI with Tilt-Shift and Telecentric optics with automat- ic Z-axis. One of several configurations
within the company’s PowerSpector series, the FDAz provides significant new capabilities and operating bene- fits. One top camera alone is rarely enough to get optimal visual access to all objects of today’s and tomor- row’s PCBs, so Mek uses nine-cam-

time and printer resetting. The Solder-Saver offers companies that use
wave soldering the opportunity to instantly recy- cle dross created in the wave solder pot, thereby saving up to 50 percent in new solder bar purchas- es. It can be used with leaded, lead-free or unlead- ed wave soldering machines. Also available in Gen3’s manufactured prod-
uct line is the Ionic Contamination Systems, also known as the CM Series, Dip and Spray Coating Systems, Wizard Thermal Profiling, SIR and CAF

era technology for enhanced visual coverage on objects hidden from sin- gle orthogonal cameras. The nine cameras (one orthogonal and eight side-capturing) are used simultane- ously, minimizing inspection times. The company is introducing
SpectorBOX, optimized for the in- spection of wave and selective solder- ing of THT and SMT components. SpectorBOX replaces traditional board flipping alternatives in less space and at lower cost. It is designed to inspect PCBs inside solder frames directly from the conveyor system. With its totally new mechanical plat- form, it is the only modular AOI in the market that can be equipped with 9 cameras, (up to 18 cameras in the SpectorBOX in dual side ver- sion), including an optional Z-axis movable head to precisely position and focus for varying PCB distance
and warpage. Contact: MEK Europe BV,
