Netia is showing the latest version of its MAM platform, which allows users to manage all processes within the global production environment, from editing through to post and distribution. According to the company this is achieved through simple, easy-to-manage workflows and task automation, and accessed through one straightforward interface. This gives operators the ability to connect all of their partners and vendors within a single production ecosystem, simplifying the sharing and managing of media assets, says Netia. includes a recording feature, so users can schedule specific recordings or continuous channel ingest. Video is stored in the MAM database along with corresponding transcript text files, which are generated by a speech-to-text engine. A new monitoring feature facilitates the searching and browsing of these recorded channel feeds, either according to a timeline or through a full-text search. The user can extract, repurpose, and export the relevant video segment, as required. As well as its own stand within the French Pavilion, Netia is co-exhibiting with Globecast in Hall 1. 8.B36f

The new Vortex V-400NP range of time displays has PoE (Power-over-Ethernet) capability, so that they need only a network connection to a PoE switch for power. “This provides huge flexibility in installation and reduces the cost of providing accurate timekeeping as the overhead of installing a mains connection can often be more than the cost

Depending on the application, it can also be important to ensure that the NTP time reference (which can be a public server on the internet) is as closely referenced to GPS as possible; Stratum-0 comes from a master clock directly referenced to GPS and within 10ms of GPS time, whereas a Stratum-1 server which is locked to a Stratum-0 reference can be up to 10 times less accurate (within about 100ms of GPS), and that is before any network jitter and delay is considered. 11.G11
