Frank Jachetta president, MultiDyne

Has IBC come at a good time for the electronic media industry? Why?

As an American company, we at MultiDyne see IBC as our showcase to the rest of the world. As big and important as the American market is to us, the rest of the world is certainly larger and in many ways provides less resistance to market, due to emerging and existing markets. Since IBC

Free travel from IBC

Amsterdam is a simple city to get around, with a good network of trams, metros and buses. To make it even more accessible, your IBC registration entitles you to a free travel pass, valid from today until Tuesday.

Once again, IBC has worked with the city authorities to make this free travel possible. It is valid on services run by GVB, the

Amsterdam transport authority, within the city boundaries, which of course includes IBC. You need to collect the special pass. Exhibition and Conference attendees can pick up a pass from any IBC Info Point around the RAI Centre.

For most people, the tram stop outside the main entrances of the RAI will be the place to start.

attracts a diversity of customers like no other show, we keep increasing our exposure and investment in this fine venue.

What do you think are the key developments in, or threats to, your market sector at the current time? With the proliferation of 3G HDSDI and the advent of 4K, fibre transport has moved from an option to a necessity. As

MultiDyne is showcasing many new products at IBC as well as our existing full line of fibre transport products. New this

Both the tram 4 and the special IBC tram 11 go through the city to Centraal Station, taking different routes and passing many of the major hotels. Extra trams run at our busy periods. If you are not sure which route is best for you, there are maps at IBC Info Points.

If your hotel is close to Centraal Station, or on the eastern side of the old town, try the sneltram (metro) route 51. This goes from the RAI train station, just a couple of minutes’ walk away. This fast

service reaches Centraal Station in under 15 minutes with just a couple of stops along the way. It can sometimes be less crowded than the 4 and 11, too.

For IBC hotels which are not close to the tram routes there are IBC shuttle buses. Information on routes and times can be found at an IBC Info Point and on the IBC mobile app which you can download for free on Apple and Android at www.ibc.org/mobileapp
