Remember your barcode for fast-track entrance

Your IBC badge IBC Registration

As you arrive at IBC, your first task is to pick up your badge. If you have registered in advance and have your barcode with you, this will take just a couple of seconds. There are a number of locations with badge stations. Conference delegates and Gold Pass attendees have a dedicated area in the Forum. If you have not yet registered then do not worry: you can sign up on-site. Please head to the registration point in the Elicium basement. Or you can use your own computer or smartphone and register via www.ibc.org/register and your badge will be immediately

ready for printing. If you want to add the

conference to your exhibition registration, or upgrade to a Gold Pass for the full VIP experience, go to the conference registration area in the Forum. There staff will be happy to explain the various packages on offer, and adapt your registration for you on the spot.

The smart badges we use at IBC, printed on the spot, mean we have an accurate record of the precise number and demographics of all attendees. This is valuable information for our exhibitors and conference organisers, helping us make IBC even better in the future.

Technological democratisation Opinion

Nick Rashby, president AJA Video Systems, anticipates a particularly exciting IBC with many new products announced

As we head into IBC, the industry is once again in a state of transition as broadcasters are figuring out the best way to accommodate 4K/UltraHD workflows. There are still ongoing challenges for content creators in managing multi- format workflows and the demand to deliver content across a broad range of platforms. Each new technology

evolution seems to introduce new formats and/or pieces of equipment into production workflows, and getting those technologies to speak to one another consistently and reliably in high-pressure live broadcast/live event scenarios is a priority. In the current market our

customers are afforded new ways to tell their stories, deliver their content and manage their media. Technology democratisation continues to be a prevailing trend, and what once required a dedicated workstation and post house suite, can now be done remotely in the field on a laptop or space-constrained mobile production unit. Major technology drives for

the business going forward are the obvious transition to 4K with new cameras and related workflows, the shift of audiences from television to mobile devices, and looking forward to the promise of new technologies like Thunderbolt 2 in the new Apple Mac Pro. IBC is always a great forum

for gaining a global perspective on industry trends, needs and future developments on a regional basis. It’s a gathering place for many customers, industry press and partners from the US and Europe, but also Latin America, the Middle East and Asia Pacific. We anticipate lots of new

product announcements at this year’s show that will help deliver solutions for broadcasters with the promise of 4K in the home, and shape future development priorities for many key industry players. 7.F11
