Autocue By David Fox

A new self-contained, ultra- portable teleprompter has been launched by Autocue that is small enough to fit in a 1600 Peli Case. It is made possible by a new folding hood and a new Autocue app. There is also a battery-powered Master Series 12-inch prompter, a camera mount and bracket set.

“A teleprompter is often ruled out for outside broadcast shoots because the kit is too big and bulky to carry, and the cabling and power requirements are too complicated. iPad prompters offer much better portability but often don’t meet professional broadcasters’ requirements,” said Autocue’s hardware director Mark Shoesmith.

The script is fed to the

prompter using the new iAutocue app on an iPad. The app enables the user to take a

video output from the iPad and feed it directly to the teleprompter monitor. The speed of the script is

controlled from the iPad – from where the script can also be edited, so there’s no need for a dedicated laptop and controller.

“The rig and de-rig of the teleprompter is extremely easy, each taking less than five

minutes,” added Shoesmith. 11.F45

Shutterstock, a provider of commercial digital imagery, will demonstrate its stock footage search system at the Sixth Annual Amsterdam SuperMeet, taking place Sunday at the Winter Garden and Grand Ballroom in The

Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky. The SuperMeet is held under the aegis of the Creative Pro User Group Network (CPUG Network). The 2013 SuperMeet includes the Boston, Los Angeles and European CPUG chapters, as well as digital video user groups around the world.

SuperMeet is the world’s largest gathering of creative and collaborative editors. Attendees at the 2013

Amsterdam SuperMeet (www.supermeet.com) will have the opportunity to meet face-to-face with product managers representing dozens of the leading providers in the

broadcast, video, and cine industry. It’s an opportunity to receive updates on editing systems, acquisition equipment and editing peripherals. Visitors to the Shutterstock stand can demo the Shutterstock clip search system, which assures an

editor or producer can quickly find high definition video that meets his/her need. Shutterstock’s footage collection recently passed one million clips, and continues to grow by 10,000 clips a week. The SuperMeet draw will include a GoPro camera provided by Shutterstock.
