The New York State Elks Association held its annual convention May 19–22 in Rochester. Among the 600 members and guests in attendance were State Sponsor Leonard Bristol and his wife, Ginny; State Sponsor Peter Affatato and his wife, Irene; and endorsed candidate for GER David Carr and his wife, Penny.
The New York Elks elected Phillip Holowacz Jr., of the
Sidney Lodge, as their 2011–2012 state president. Other state officials installed at the convention were Secy. Paul Erkkinen, Rensselaer, and Treas. Christopher Maddock, Lyons. The association also elected 17 state vice presidents. During the convention, the state Ritual Contest was held and the Liverpool Lodge earned the right to represent the state at the Grand Lodge Convention.
