Lake Havasu City, AZ, Lodge held a Youth Recognition Dinner and honored the lodge’s Super Stars of the Month, Terrific Teens of the Month, and Students of the Month for the previous school year. Lodge members honored a total of 30 outstanding young people and treated them,


their families, and their teachers—a total of 120

Retirement Ceremony and respectfully retired 14 worn and damaged US flags. Lodge members also treated the nearly 100 people who attended the event to a barbecue lunch. In other news, the lodge donated $500 to the Atascadero Fire Depart- ment to help buy a new vehicle and $100 to a team participating in a fund- raising event organized by Relay for


Terrific Teens Gregorio Rodriquez, Michael Wrona, Garret Luzzi, and Chase McAndrews and Scholarship Committee Chairman William Ensley.


In other news, the lodge held a Fun Pentathlon fund-raiser and raised nearly $1,400 for the Hospice of Havasu. The lodge also donated $100 to the local Big Brothers Big Sisters organization and donated the use of its lodge grounds to the ladies auxiliary for a Fashion Show fund-raiser for the local Meals on Wheels program.


Life, which raises money for the American Cancer Society.


Chico, CA, Lodge hosted its tenth annual Public Safety Day Field Trip, which about 1,000 children and adults from local schools attended. The event featured safety demonstrations and displays by police officers, emergency medical personnel, and firefighters.


In other news, lodge members treated dispatchers from eight local police, fire, and emergency medical services departments and their families—a total of nearly 290 people —to dinner. Lodge members also honored one Dispatcher of the Year from each department and awarded a weekend vacation at a luxury hotel to one of the dispatchers, who was chosen in a special drawing. The lodge also sent meals to each of the eight departments for the 27 employees who were unable to attend the dinner.


Elk Grove, CA, Lodge donated a $1,000 ENF Gratitude Grant to Chicks in Crisis, a local charity that helps young women deal with unex- pected pregnancies. The funds were used to purchase groceries, diapers, and other baby supplies.


Escondido, CA, Lodge members treated two US Marines and their families, as well as the mother of an active-duty US Army soldier, to dinner and dancing at the lodge.


Sierra Vista, AZ, Lodge members treated 12 firefighters and their families to Sunday brunch at the lodge in thanks for the firefighters’ heroic efforts in battling wildfires in the area. In other news, lodge members baked, packed, and shipped 360 cookies to members of a US Army unit stationed in Afghanistan.
