Aripeka, FL, Lodge members visited the Baldomero Lopez State Veterans Nursing Home, performed a patriotic ceremony for the 70 veterans residing at the home, and presented each veteran with a US flag pin. Lodge members treated the 100 attendees to dessert following the ceremony.


Deland, FL, Lodge donated the use of its grounds to Volusia Honor Air for an informational meeting. Volusia Honor Air flies WW II veterans to Washington, DC, to visit the National WW II Memorial and other national monuments and patriotic sites.


Holiday Isles, FL, Lodge members visited the Bay Pines VA medical facility and distributed decks of playing cards to 12 veterans. In other news, lodge members participated in welcoming 71 veterans back to Florida after a one-day visit to Washington, DC, provided by Honor Flight West Florida.


Inverness, FL, Lodge members visited four area nursing homes and gave small US flags to 30 resident veterans.


Jacksonville, FL, Lodge members visited the Lake City VA Medical Center and treated 42 veterans to refreshments and bingo games. Lodge members distributed coupon books as bingo prizes and also awarded several ball caps and stuffed toy animals as door prizes.


Kissimmee, FL, Lodge members visited the Orlando VA Medical Center and treated 20 patients to bingo games and sugar-free refresh- ments. Lodge members distributed canteen books as prizes.


Palm Coast, FL, Lodge members donated $130 to Building Homes for Heroes, which builds homes for wounded veterans and adapts veter- ans’ existing homes to make them handicapped accessible.

Grand Haven, MI, Lodge, with the help of scouts from lodge-sponsored Boy Scout Troop No. 14, held its third annual Veterans Dinner and treated 28 veterans from area nursing homes and three members of the American Legion to a meal. Lodge members also gave $300 to a local veteran to help him pay transportation costs associated with his medical treatment and donated $100 to a veterans memorial display in Grand Haven’s Central Park. Port Orange, FL, Lodge donated 30 pounds of clothing and 30 pounds of household goods to a thrift store that supports a local AMVETS post.


Augusta, GA, Lodge members created a patriotic display on the front lawn of a local funeral home to honor fallen US veterans on Memorial Day. The display was made up of 1,000 US flags, 27 crosses, and a life-size silhouette of a kneeling soldier.


Boise, ID, Lodge members took part in a Memorial Day Ceremony at the Idaho State Cemetery and placed a wreath in honor of US servicemen and women who have given their lives in the service of their country.


Princeton, IL, Lodge members invited 12 veterans from the Illinois Veterans Home LaSalle and two members of an American Legion post to the lodge and treated them to dinner.


Lafayette, IN, Lodge, along with the Tippecanoe County Veterans Council, held a Memorial Day Parade, featur- ing approximately 75 entries, which was followed by a solemn ceremony that paid tribute to the nation’s veterans. About 3,000 people at- tended the parade.


Frankfort, KY, Lodge donated a television to the Lexington VA


Medical Center for the patients to use in the center’s recreation room.


Frankfort, KY, and Winchester, KY, Lodges held a Father’s Day Picnic at the Lexington VA Medical Center: Leestown Division and treated about 70 veterans to lunch.


Ocean City, MD, Lodge members used the last $160 from a $1,000 ENF Gratitude Grant to purchase a wreath, which they laid at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cem- etery–Sussex County to honor the memory of US servicemen and women who gave their lives for their country.


Washington-Rockville, MD, Lodge, with the help of scouts from lodge- sponsored Boy Scout Troop No. 1449, hosted 13 veterans from the Washington, DC, VA Medical Center for a Father’s Day Brunch at the lodge.


Attleboro, MA, Lodge members gave 3,500 small US flags to spectators at the town’s Memorial Day Parade.


Franklin, MA, Lodge raised more than $510 in donations during the Massa- chusetts Elks Association’s annual convention for the lodge’s Oil for Veterans Program, which provides heating oil to needy veterans’ families in the winter.
