Gallup, NM, Lodge donated $200 to the Los Alamos Lodge to help support its efforts to provide more than 5,000 meals for firefighters and other emergency services personnel who were battling a local wildfire.

Ridgefield Park, NJ, Lodge used part of the proceeds from its tenth annual Gerry Cassetta Memorial Golf Tourna- ment, in which more than 100 golfers competed, to make $1,000 donations to the Teaneck National Guard Armory’s Family Assistance Center, which assists the families of deployed guardsmen, and the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society.
In other news, lodge members
awarded $500 scholarships to seven graduating high school students and treated the students to lunch.
Summit, NJ, Lodge held a Dinner and Dance at a hotel ballroom to celebrate its 100th anniversary. Nearly 250 political leaders, Elks, and guests from around the state attended the event.
Toms River, NJ, Lodge donated a new US flag to the Toms River Youth Center to replace the center’s current flag, which was worn out.
Belen, NM, Lodge donated $250 to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, which provides assistance to needy families, and $250 to Special Olympics New Mexico. The lodge also donated about 50 toy stuffed bears to the Valencia County Sheriff’s Office and the Belen Police Department to help comfort children during domestic violence calls. Additionally, the lodge donated 25 food baskets to families of needy elementary school students. In other news, lodge members gave dictionaries to 45 third-grade students at Central Elementary School.
Las Vegas, NM, Lodge held its annual Student of the Month Banquet at a local convention center and treated about 150 students, parents, and school officials to dinner. During the event, lodge members honored nine Students of the Month for the previous year from each of Mora, Robertson, and West Las Vegas High Schools and three Students of the Month from Wagon Mound High School. Los Alamos, NM, Lodge members, despite a voluntary evacuation order, spent several days cooking meals for firefighters and other emergency services personnel who were battling a wildfire that threatened the town. Lodge members, using more than $1,000 of their own money, provided more than 5,000 meals to emergency responders. The lodge also received monetary support from other lodges around the state.
