In other news, the lodge held a Garage Sale fund-raiser, which raised nearly $1,300 for the Oklahoma Veterans Center–Talahina, and a High Tea fund-raiser, which featured performances by a comedian and a local dance troupe and raised $2,000 for lodge veterans programs.
Utah Elks Association, with the help of the Utah Department of Veterans Affairs,
presented a Utah state flag to Scot King, who is a US Marine Corps veteran, a Gateway (Portland), OR, Lodge member, and the founder of the Remember the Wounded Ride, a charity that raises awareness about veterans issues and assists the families of veterans. King plans to ride his bicycle to the capitals of all 48 contiguous states. During his ride through Utah, he was assisted by the Bountiful, Cottonwood (Murray), Eureka “Tintic,” Golden Spike, Park City, Tooele, and Vernal Lodges, each of which provided him with a place to stay, a hot meal, and/or assistance with his equipment. New York, NY, Lodge hosted 150 veterans from five area hospitals for dinner as well as a variety show at the lodge.
Norwich, NY, Lodge members visited the New York State Veterans Home– Oxford and donated more than $500 worth of clothing, toiletries, and other items to the home for the use of resident veterans.
Plattsburgh, NY, Lodge dedicated a Veterans Memorial Plaza on lodge grounds. The pentagonal plaza features a flagpole and five marble benches—one dedicated to each branch of the US armed services.
Calabash, NC, Lodge held its annual Flea Market fund-raiser and raised $3,000 to support the lodge Veterans Service Committee.
In other news, the lodge donated $500 to the Veterans Welcome Home and Resource Center in Little River, SC. The Veterans Welcome Home and Resource Center provides veterans

with assistance in applying for the benefits that they have earned.
Greensboro, NC, Lodge members visited the W. G. (Bill) Hefner Medical Center in Salisbury and treated more than 100 veterans and several staff members to an outdoor barbecue lunch.
In other news, lodge members, with the help of a $9,400 ENF Impact Grant, recorded interviews with 50 veterans for the Library of Congress Veterans History Project and for- warded the recordings to the Library of Congress to be archived.
Coshocton, OH, Lodge held a Memo- rial Day Barbecue and treated 81 local veterans to a barbecue meal.
Northeast District, OH, lodge mem- bers attended the dedication of a new Veterans Memorial at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman. The memorial was funded by donations from each of the lodges in the district.
Tulsa, OK, Lodge members treated seven WW II veterans to a patriotic
Gateway (Portland), OR, Lodge members visited the Portland VA Medical Center, treated about 30 veterans being treated there to bingo games, and gave about $350 worth of magazines, playing cards, and toilet- ries to the veterans.
Roseburg, OR, Lodge hosted 40 veterans from the Roseburg VA medical facility for lunch at the lodge and a Flag-Retirement Ceremony, during which the veterans led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Allegheny, PA, Lodge donated $500 to lodge veterans activities.
Franklin, PA, Lodge members treated more than 200 members of the Western Pennsylvania Families of Fallen Heroes Foundation’s Motor- cycle Group to lunch at a local park.
Johnstown, PA, Lodge members treated 25 veterans from the Hol- lidaysburg Veterans Home to a patriotic ceremony at a local park followed by dinner at the lodge.
North Penn, PA, Lodge members sold baked goods at the Southampton Railroad Station Society’s first annual Armed Forces Day Railfest and raised more than $70 for the lodge Veterans Service Committee.
Hilton Head Island, SC, Lodge donated three electric scooters, three wheelchairs, and several other pieces of medical equipment to Veterans Victory House, a nursing home for veterans located in Walterboro, SC.
Camden, TN, Lodge held a solemn Memorial Day Service and laid a wreath at the veterans memorial in front of the Benton County Court- house to honor the memory of the US
