International Study Opportunities for UCD Students

Te opportunity for UCD students to attend a university abroad deepens their academic, personal and cultural experience and enhances employment prospects.

UCD offers a range of exciting opportunities to study abroad as part of your degree programme. You may spend either a semester or a year abroad depending on your course of study. Participating in an exchange programme is an excellent way to gain a new perspective on your academic sub- ject and enhance your employment prospects. On a personal level you will benefit from the

experience of living in a different culture, mak- ing friends with students from different coun- tries and increasing your independence and self-confidence. UCD students who have gone on exchange

have described it as the best year of their lives. Te Erasmus exchange programme is an EU- wide mobility programme which has so far seen more than one million European students par- ticipate in exchanges. In UCD, we have an exten- sive Erasmus exchange programme, involving agreements with over 200 partner institutions in 24 countries. UCD is also a member of the Universitas 21 consortium, an active network of internation-

Henderson STUDENT

University of Virginia, has been the most exciting, thrilling, jam-packed and instructive of my whole life. I don’t know of anyone who has come back from his or her year abroad an unchanged person. Not only do you learn a lot about every aspect of your host country, you learn tons about other countries and cultures too, through meeting so many other international students. Te clichés are true – it really does broaden your horizons and change your perspectives. You learn a lot about yourself too.
